Captain Alan Murray
Alan Murray was born in Melbourne, Florida and moved to North Carolina in 1980. No matter what zip code, Alan is working, fishing, and if a boat is near, then Alan can be found. He has been a private sportfishing captain for over 35 years. When he is not fishing, he loves hunting, cooking, and trips to Alaska with family and friends. He has accumulated a wealth of knowledge, always impressing everyone with endless facts and trivia. He is the proud dad of two daughters, Brena and Emmi; and his late son, Alan Jr.. He will go to the depths of the ocean to make sure everyone around is safe, happy and well fed.
Alan was diagnosed with stage 3 Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia, the beginning of 2020. It is known as one of many blood cancers. He is being treated at Duke University. Alan is also receiving excellent care at our local Raab Cancer Clinic. Currently, Leukemia has no cure, but is treatable. Alan continues his battle with leukemia, but he isn’t going to let cancer stop him from enjoying the things he loves in life.
